Is your current trip your first visit to India?
Yes, this is the first time I have come to India. The purpose of my trip is to spread love, peace and prosperity between the two nations. I will contribute in my own way by teaming up with Indian artistes for a film I will direct. The music of the movie will be composed by Indian artistes, with singers Udit Narayan, Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, Abhijit and Jaspinder Narula lending their voices to the sound track. Besides, Saroj Khan will be in charge of the film's choreography. I am very happy that so many Indian artistes have agreed to be part of my project.
As an actress, do you see the film industries in India and Pakistan collaborating for projects in the future?
Such a development would indeed be wonderful. At the same time, this process has started, with Pooja Bhatt sourcing the music for Paap from Pakistan.
How has India been for been?
I am overwhelmed by the love and affection I have received from people here. So much so, even though I was supposed to return to Pakistan on January 22, I have stayed back. During my short visit, I have met most of the stalwarts of the Indian film industry, including Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Yash Chopra, Hema Malini, Mahesh Bhatt, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan and, of course, my favourite actor, Amitabh Bachchan. I can't express in words how I felt after meeting Amitabh Bachchan —it was a dream come true!
You are referred to as the Aishwarya Rai of Pakistan.
I guess this comparison is because we have similar credibility and share a physical resemblance to a certain extent. Both of us are tall, slim and fair and represent our respective countries abroad. Moreover, just as Aishwarya is doing international films, I have done a co-production with Russia, apart from other global projects.
Are you open to a role in a Bollywood movie?
Having acted in several films during my celluloid career, a role in a Bollywood film would have to be really good for it to appeal to me.
